Salt hosts the launch of the book Minor Vibrations on Earth. The book documents the four-year-long project process of artist Burçak Bingöl’s solo exhibition of the same name, which opened in Istanbul in September 2024, following its presentations in St Ives and Ankara.
Designed by Dilara Sezgin, the book features texts by Bingöl and ceramic artist and art historian Özgür Ceren Can, along with a selection of the artist’s works, sketches, notes, and photographs. Limited-edition copies of the publication, produced in collaboration with Barın Bookbinding, exemplify an approach at the intersection of art, craft, and design.
In a discussion focusing on the transformation of an exhibition, which toured different cities, into a book that establishes a connection to its locale, Burçak Bingöl, Dilara Sezgin, Emir Barın, and Gizem Gedik will come together. The program will highlight the relationship between the book and the exhibition, exploring the fluidity between spatial architecture and book architecture. Additionally, the archival nature of the book will serve as a basis to discuss the collective production process of artists and artisans, the significance of artist books, and the impact of creative collaborations on book production and exhibition design.
The program is open to all and free of charge.
