MINOR VIBRATIONS ON EARTH

The book encapsulates the evolving forms of Burçak’s project, titled “Minor Vibrations on Earth”, which has been on her desk since 2020. Starting from Ankara and traveling through different stops, it explores her thoughts, the experiences of visitors, collaborators, and art writers who were part of this journey. The idea of bringing the kiln space into the exhibition is ultimately crystallized in the form of a book.


 
Working with Burçak and her invaluable companions during the preparation of this publication and the exhibition of the same name at Galeri Nev was an extraordinary experience. Within a compressed timeline, we tackled every topic simultaneously and collaboratively with Burçak Bingöl and Ayşe Aydoğan. For me, directly working with an artist feels like being transported into the layers of their practice. The music that fills her studio, the exchange of knowledge and curiosity that sometimes feels like being in an eagerly awaited elective course, all seeped into the content and design decisions of the book. The backstage of the project was as vibrant as the objective aesthetics of its final outputs.
